Media Case Studies from PTPR

STAX Systems/Triaxiom Fitness -- New Product Launch - 2007

STAX Systems chose PTPR to launch a new product with a bang in Phoenix. PTPR helped STAX Systems reposition its overall strategy and enhance its brand through audience-rich placements and demo research. After the initial launch, this relative unknown was increasing its presence in the fitness field and getting great buzz.

PTPR clients Chris Powell and David Smith were featured on ABC's "20/20"

PTPR continued to establish and develop relationships for the company and secured spots on "The Oprah Winfrey Show," "ABC News 20/20" and "The View." After these national spots aired, sales of the product rose 324%. As brand and product awareness increased, many print and online placements followed including a feature on Yahoo! that generated over 600,000 hits.

As a result of the press in America, several international placements followed including "Pick Me Up," a number one magazine in the U.K.

Sprouts Farmers Market -- Citrus Freeze, January 2007

PTPR was retained by Sprouts Farmers Market to build and maintain media relationships in their three southwest regions. One goal, to strengthen and maintain the brand in increasingly competitive media markets. In 2006, Sprouts PR generated nearly $800,000 in press in four markets including, business, retail, feature and breaking news. One example, the citrus freeze of 2007. Large shares of the California citrus crop and Arizona lettuce crop were lost to the uncharacteristic weather in these two regions. The large loss not only created a shortage of such popular staples as lettuce, strawberries and oranges, it also caused the price to climb considerably. Other challenges included the inferior quality of a damaged product and the demand of the product outweighs the supply.

PTPR positioned Sprouts - a leader in locally purchased produce - as the go-to for "citrus education." In the course of two days nearly two dozen placements in three regions and a five-figure media report. PTPR partnered Sprouts with media-rich properties and expanded their previous media focus. The breaking news component of the story was used as a launch pad to quantify their place in the market and further their endurance as a major player in the market(s). This was a huge victory for what could have been a great deal of negative publicity for the produce leader.
